An original acrylic painting is made to be lived with for years. With a few simple habits, you can keep it looking its best and enjoy it for a long time. Here is calm, practical advice for everyday care.
Keep it out of direct sunlight
Strong sunlight can fade colours over time. Choose a wall that receives soft, indirect light rather than hanging the painting where the sun falls directly on it for hours each day. If a bright wall is your only option, curtains or blinds can help soften the light.
Avoid humidity and heat
Steady conditions are best. Avoid hanging a painting in a bathroom, above a radiator or close to a fireplace, where moisture and sudden changes in temperature are more likely. A calm, evenly heated room such as a living room or bedroom is usually a good home for art.

Dust gently
Dust the surface occasionally with a soft, dry cloth, using light movements. Do not press hard. Please do not use water, sprays or cleaning products on a painting, as they can cause damage.
Our paintings are made in acrylic, which dries to a durable, flexible surface. Even so, acrylic is not meant to be cleaned with water or cleaning products, so dust it only with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid prolonged direct sunlight, heat from radiators and damp rooms, and never press on the paint surface.
Handle it with care
When you move the painting, hold it by the edges and avoid touching the painted surface. Clean, dry hands help, and it is wise to carry it with both hands, keeping the front free from contact with anything else.
Hang it securely
Use a hook and wall fixing that suit the weight of the painting and the type of wall. A secure hanging protects your artwork and your home. Check the fixing from time to time, especially if the painting hangs in a busy hallway. You can find more guidance in our article on how high to hang a painting.

A note on framing
If you decide to frame your painting, choose a frame that fits its size and style, and ask a professional framer for advice. A good frame supports the painting and gives it a finished look, but it should never be forced onto the artwork. Our originals come in 40 × 40, 40 × 50, 50 × 70 and 55 × 75 cm, so you can plan a frame with confidence.
Enjoy it every day
Care does not have to be complicated. Good light, a stable room, gentle dusting and a secure fixing are the foundations. The rest is simply living with your art and enjoying it.
